Washington, USA - A report released Wednesday by an environmental watchdog group says contamination of U.S. drinking water with human-produced chemicals is much worse than previously estimated. They said some of the highest levels have been recorded in Miami, Philadelphia, Florida and New Orleans.
Experts explained that the chemicals, which are resistant to decomposition in the environment, are known as perfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAs. And some have been linked to cancers, liver damage, low birth weight and other health problems.
